You might have use your flash drive in someone else computer and then when you brought it back home and opened the drive without knowing that it had a autorun virus on the drive. And it infects all of your drive and disables your registry editor, task manager, command(cmd.exe). And you don't know what to do. This autorun virus creates multiple files in all the rood directory of the drives and when you right click on any of your drive you get a autorun option at the top instead of the usual open option.

And Sometimes when you insert a CD or DVD on the Drive then it auto loads itself and takes alot of time to find the autorun on the CD or DVD and then shows you option to open the files, play music and others. This might be wasting a lot of time if your computer is slow onto itself.

This problem can be fixed when you disable the Windows XP option to enable autorun on all the drives. For this take the following steps.

1. Go to Run Dialog box and type in "gpedit.msc" and hit Enter.
2. You will be taken to Group Policy window.

3. Then on the left sidepanel on the Local Computer Policy.
4. Go to Administrative templates and double click to drop down menu.
5. Then Search for the "Turn Off Autoplay" And Double Click it.

6. To disable autorun on all the drives enable the function.
7. And on the "Turn off Autoplay on"drop down menu choose All Drives.
8. Click Apply and you are done

This tweak will help you not to get annoyed by autoruns on all drives and the infection from virus and malware that are supposed to run with the autorun function
